3.5 Extracting Files
Files can be extracted in several ways:
- Usually files and dirs are extracted to the default directory set
within the extraction window. The extraction window can be open by selecting
the corresponding item from the context menu of the extract button. This
window contains two gadgets: the string gadget allows to set the destination
dir, while the checkmark indicates whether to preserve files' full path names.
If this checkmark is not ticked, all files are extracted to the destination
dir without creating any directory, otherwise they will mantain the
same path they have inside the archive.
Once you set those gadget you can select some files and directorys in the
main window and extract them by clicking on Extract, on both
extraction window and main window.
- Another way to extract files is to select them and dragging them out
of the program window: they will be extracted following the settings of the
extraction window.
- You can also select some files and then drop a workbench icon onto the
extract button of the main window. In that case all selected files will be
extracted to the drawer the dropped file belongs to (with no path).
